Horses: September 1, 2007

I wanted to play with my painting today. I made two ACEOs using the same drawing of a horse and played with the colors.
"Horse of a Different Color" is a 2.5"x3.5" original watercolor and ink ACEO on illustration board. I have a new watercolor color that I wanted to try. It is Daniel Smith's quinacridone deep gold. It is the color in the background above the horse. It looks kind of like burnt sienna. To contrast against that, I used turquoise and lime green on the horse. Sold.
"What's Black and White and Red All Over?" is also a 2.5"x3.5" original watercolor and ink ACEO on illustration board. I have been wanting to do a painting in these three colors. The red background is decorated with brand symbols. Sold.
