Summer & Fall: January 14, 2008

"Summer" and "Fall" are designs that I am submitting to The Trail of Painted Ponies. Hopefully I will have a chosen design, but if not, this was a fun project to do. My acrylic paintings were done on The Trail of Painted Ponies' copyrighted and registered horse form.

Tapestry: January 13, 2008

Using paint on my palette left over from "Spring is Near", I painted this 4"x6" "Tapestry" in oils on handmade watercolor paper. I was having a rare bad day and decided to let the painting evolve on its own. I was hoping the rhythm of layering paint would soothe my melancholy mood.
I walked away from the painting at one point to wash my brushes and when I came back to the painting, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it looked kind of like a tapestry. Happy with the results of this piece, I think I'll have to get moody more often.
