This is a blue heron which I happened to snap a photo of last year as it was leaving the shallow waters at Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge. The photo was blurry but still worked as a reference.
"Blue Heron in Flight" is a 5"x7" acrylic painting on 140lb. watercolor paper. It was painted on April 27, 2007.
